So i’m trying to fix a Pc a friend built and he has a 5700g on a MSI x570 Gaming plus, 750w corsair PSU. So when you try to install any new CPU drivers the display just goes blank midway. The system is still running and you can hear sounds from the PC if you click stuff but no display. Iv tried old drivers, auto drivers, manual install drivers. Everything, I was told the CPU was probably faulty so I got a new one but the same issue. The only way to get the display to work again is by reinstalling windows and then if you install the drivers again it goes off. Interestingly, the CPU outputs a signal when you restart it and see the bio menu but as soon as it gets to windows if goes off. Iv also tried a new storage device too. I put my personal GPU in the system and the issue went away and I could see what was on the screen but not when my GPU is out and I don’t want to give my GPU away lol. Any suggestions, i’m thinking maybe a bio setting maybe??

It seems the issue might be limited to Windows. Alternatively, the problem could stem from the motherboard itself. Have you checked the updates for your motherboard chipset driver before attempting to update the display driver?

During the setup process, the chipset drivers fail to load and the problem persists even after a clean installation. The situation remains unchanged even when switching to a new SSD, suggesting the core issue isn't related to storage type.
