No output following the mixing of RAM.
I tried to enhance my memory, but the parts available locally were missing. Thinking about it, combining some RAM shouldn’t cause much trouble, especially since my tasks don’t demand high speeds. I purchased a Corsair Vengeance LPX and a Kingston HyperX FURY Black Series. Initially, I set them up in their original arrangement. The system detected the modules but labeled them as "Hardware reserved" in both the task manager and resource monitor (see attached screenshot). I switched to a different order and configuration, which finally resolved the issue. After several attempts to view the status screen, I removed the new RAM and rearranged the old ones to test if the slots were faulty. Once that worked, my system booted normally without issues. I repeated the process and got the same outcome. It seems mixing RAM can cause performance hiccups but not the post-failure scenario. My friend faced the same problem while upgrading his own setup on Windows 10. I’m still puzzled—anyone have insights? I’m using Windows 11 and my friend uses Windows 10, with an ASUS TUF X470-PLUS GAMING board and a Ryzen 7 2700X. Thanks for any advice!
If a RAM stick is broken, ASUS motherboards will emit three beeps (assuming the beeper was installed) and it won’t function—no keyboard, no screen, nothing works.
