Any Ideas? I've been presented with a b450m-pro vdh max with a ryzen 1600 all unknown conditon but the combo wont post. I've added known working ddr4, rx 480 and also tried a 9400m and ryzen 1200. After powering I get a short white light on cpu debug led then all off and fan spin. Theres a short crack on the motherboard speaker. Img 0492.mp4
The motherboard shows you have a nonfunctioning CPU, mismatched BIOS or issues with the board or its socket.
What a cooler is that? It seems to be a case cooler, not the CPU. The motherboard probably doesn<|pad|> to not recognize it as a CPU cooler and automatically shuts it down to avoid damage. Consider using a better CPU cooler.
The bios was revised at a point where both 1600 and 1200 entries were deleted.
In my previous post I checked a functional Ryzen 1200. We agreed to take out power, HDMI cable, CMOS and short the power headers for 30 seconds with no effect. I haven’t taken off the cover to look but it seems fine. I tried another known working Ryzen 1200 and still got the same result. It appears to be just a large heatsink on top of the CPU with a fan running for boot testing. I’m confident the latest BIOS still supports the 1000 series.
I've already tested them. I started by spraying IPA into the ram slots and swapping in and out a ram stick, then heated it with a hair dryer. I also performed a thorough visual check and found no problems. The boot crack noise likely indicates hardware issues, so I'm considering reading the bios but don't have the right adaptors for my CH341a. I'm thinking about taking out the chip and re-soldering it to a smaller adapter, but the PCIE slot is too close and it would be a hassle. IMG_0515.HEIC IMG_0513.HEIC IMG_0514.HEIC
