Hey! I recently assembled a PC using second-hand components locally. I tried it on my TV first, and it functioned perfectly. But when I connected it to my monitor, it displayed no signal and entered power-saving mode. I double-checked the cables, unplugged and plugged them back in, then turned off and powered on both devices. I verified the video source was correct, but still no signal. I’m using a DVI-D to HDMI adapter cable since that was available, but my graphics card only supports DVI, while the monitor has D-SUB, DVI and HDMI ports. Anyone have a solution? PC specs: Huananzhi x58 motherboard RX-470, Intel Xeon Xeon 5677, 2x8 DDR3 RAM, 500W power supply. The monitor is an AOC 22E1D. School starts soon and I need a working PC for CAD, 3D rendering, programming, and some gaming for relaxation.

It displays the AOC logo before switching off and entering power-saving mode.

When both ports are available, it’s often better to avoid using the DVI port because it may not support the latest features or compatibility with newer devices.

Since I only have a DVI to HDMI cable at home, I think it shouldn't be the problem, but I'm not very comfortable with PCs. My idea is to switch to a DVI to DVI cable later and see if that works, but I'm curious if someone knows this might be another issue.

It might be possible, but the setup seems to reject DVI input for HDMI. Not every monitor accepts converted signals across all ports, and depending on the resolution it could require a dual DVI cable. However, since your monitor includes an HDMI port, that shouldn't be the issue.

Alright, I'll attempt to use the DVI cable. Appreciate the assistance and I'll follow up soon!
