Details: i5 2500 550ti (also tested 440) 8gb DDR3 500w power supply (also tried 680w). Full story: system functioned but experienced crashes due to BSOD “kmode exception not handled.” I planned to resolve that issue. However, before that, I upgraded to a new case and organized all components inside it. Only a DVD drive and a USB card were added; the only removal was a fan. It lights up but no display appears and it doesn’t power off properly. Tested various GPUs and similar parts. Before switching the PSU, I removed another fan that wasn’t working. Still no improvement.
It seems something isn't connected properly. Check your manual about the case connections and verify everything is in its correct position. Other issues might also be present.
I believe it’s USB 3.0, though I might be mistaken. You can use adaptors to downgrade from 3.0 to 2.0. I’m using one because my 3.0 pins are bent. This means the case and I/O connections might not function properly until you connect them. Once you have the adapter, your “USB 3.0 or USB 3.2 Gen 1 or USB 3.2 5GB” (they’re all interchangeable) will be compatible with 2.0. This should only impact peripherals or RGB case lighting, not the main issue. Edited June 3, 2023 by Bombastinator
