Many games running at 300 FPS on my 60 Hz screen turn into chaotic displays of tearing and stuttering. It’s hard to understand why my setup feels so different from others’, but I’ve accepted that the CS:GO competitive scene is mysterious and beyond my grasp.
It seems each game could vary a lot. I understand that running something just above 60 frames per second—like 60 to 80—makes the experience noticeably less smooth compared to simply syncing to 60. However, with frame rates at 200 or higher, I usually get a very smooth performance without any visible tearing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t have the newest titles installed, but the ones I’ve got are C&C Generals, Battlefield 1942, and they run smoothly at 30 frames per second and 1440p resolution.
Certain classic titles like SimCity 4 tend to cause major issues on machines with more than one processor. Playing SimCity 4 usually leads to frequent crashes when using dual-core systems.
CSGO and Team Fortress 2 aren't running smoothly. Around 45 frames per second at a resolution of 720x576. That's real talk.
