No one should ever play Borderlands as a single-player experience.

I'm uncertain if I expressed myself correctly, but the way I approach this game now is causing me to lose so often. With assistance, I wouldn't be dying so frequently. For me, playing solo seems sensible to grind extra levels and progress more slowly, which would reduce my losses. Honestly, right now I wish there was a tracker in the game that recorded stats like total deaths and aim accuracy. That would make replaying much more enjoyable. I already plan to replay this on single-player eventually and hope to survive fewer deaths. Still, it's hard to accept how I'm struggling through the game right now. I now have a laser weapon and am battling aliens. Along the way, I've died many times. I enjoy the game, but too many deaths make it frustrating—it feels like the story is guiding you rather than letting you play. If there were stats tracking, I'd know exactly what to aim for next time. Do other Borderlands titles offer similar features?
I've tried solo play and progress steadily. It's fascinating since I haven't really faced multiplayer before.
You're asking if your approach involves repeatedly defeating simple challenges to avoid dying when facing tougher content, rather than focusing on meaningful progression. Are you aiming for a different strategy that prioritizes grinding big challenges instead of grinding through easy ones?
I'm just going through the story and missions without grinding much. I've played around 10 hours so far.
Tried Borderlands 1 and 2 solo, had an amazing time playing a single-player experience before
I recall games where you faced three deaths and possibly many more attempts, and there are still some titles that support that style. My experience with Borderlands is far beyond three deaths, and it feels like the game pulls me in no matter what I do. Sometimes I realize I got careless and lost a few lives because I thought I could start over if things didn’t go right. I don’t enjoy playing in that way. By the way, I haven’t voted and won’t vote in this poll. I just want to read what others think based on their opinions and comments.
I've only ever played Bordlerands as a solo player, which worked for me. I prefer not to play story-driven games with others.
