I see your point, but there will likely be more sarcasm around that comment. It would make more sense to mention an unlocked 6-core i5 instead. In theory, the performance should match that of a 4-core CPU.

This suggestion aligns with your needs. While it doesn’t require personal approval, I find Intel slightly preferable for my setup. As mentioned earlier, a 9700kf model costs around $500 new. Unless prices drop to about $300, I won’t be interested. Even then, it would still be too expensive. I recently bought an i3-9350kf for roughly $150 on sale. You can check kakaku.com to track prices from various online sellers in real time—it’s a handy tool.
