No one mentioned problems with Chrome and auto-hiding the taskbar.
Immediately, most users don’t hide the taskbar by default... but I do and have done so since Windows 98. Over the last 8 to 10 months, Chrome has been unstable and keeps appearing on top, preventing me from accessing the taskbar with the mouse. This only occurs in Chrome. I can switch tabs to other programs and the taskbar appears normally. - It isn’t limited to my desktop (it also happens on my laptop) -- both are running Windows 7 x64. It seems to happen even after a fresh Windows install. Only Chrome is affected, as far as I’ve checked through various Google searches (adding flags to shortcuts, adjusting compatibility settings, disabling and re-enabling options, turning off auto-hide, reinstalling, etc.) without success. The only workaround I’ve found is maximizing Chrome, bringing up the taskbar, moving the mouse to trigger auto-hide (sliding it back down), then maximizing Chrome again. This only resolves the issue for about 10–15 minutes of regular use, then it repeats. Help! P.S. If I maximize a YouTube video and then unmaximize, it always triggers this problem.
