I believe the game is already available on consoles, with a PC release coming in just four hours. While I haven’t closely tracked its development, I’m a big fan of Gothic 1 and 2, and have been excited about the possibility of another great title since experiencing them. This review I just saw has piqued my interest now. It seems the usual technical problems from previous PB titles are present, but the environment design is impressive (as expected from PB) and the quests are well crafted. The storyline and factions look strong. Unfortunately, it’s mentioned that the English voice acting isn’t particularly good, which is typical for PB games. I wonder if the developers truly understand how poor the English voice work can be in many of their titles. If they did, they might invest more in improving localization. I’ve read other reviews too; some are quite harsh about the game, but I don’t expect much different from a PB release at this stage. Those who appreciate PB’s style and strengths usually enjoy what they get, while critics focused solely on visuals and polish may miss out on the unique aspects the studio is known for. Still, because of the technical complaints, I might hold off until a patch arrives. I’ve already preordered Assassin's Creed Origins, so I’ll be playing that instead. Divinity: Original Sin 2, Assassin's Creed Origins, ELEX... this feels like a perfect season for me. Here’s a solid overview of PB’s combat systems and an analysis of ELEX’s mechanics based on old pre-release footage. The ELEX features begin at 3:59.

I saw it a bit yesterday; it seems intriguing, though the graph and physics weren't great.

I just purchased it, but I haven’t been able to download it yet… I’m really looking forward to it. I wasn’t sure which latest version to get, but I thought it was better to support Piranha Bytes rather than WB.

I've been gaming for roughly two hours. The visuals aren't great and the controls feel a bit sloppy, but the environment pulls you in and the characters are engaging. If you're familiar with Gothic and Risen, you'll understand what to expect in terms of gameplay.

Based on what I've gathered, the game seems to align well with expectations given its early Gothic roots. The main critiques often center around technical aspects and combat, but those issues don't stand out to me since I'm familiar with PB combat mechanics. Most comments are positive, highlighting improvements over previous entries like Gothic 1 and 2. Comparing it to AAA titles feels less relevant here, as the game doesn't need to match their high standards—Gothic's achievements in PC RPGs are already impressive.

This game blends elements from Gothic 1 and 2 with a contemporary twist. It offers similar mechanics such as faction selection, progression through ranks, and skill development. You enjoy a high degree of freedom, though early on you need to steer clear of combat—just like in the original titles. The standout feature is the jetpack, which adds a fresh dimension. Regarding visuals, the graphics aren’t perfect; texture quality remains low even at maximum settings, particularly for plants and armor. A texture pack might help eventually, but it’s unlikely to be a quick fix. Overall, it feels like a natural extension of the series if you enjoy its other entries.

ELEX's visuals seem superior compared to Fallout 4 and even Skyrim Special Edition, which remains strong in Steam sales. The comparison highlights a clear preference for ELEX's design. Adjustments to graphics are possible using Reshade.

@Delicieuxz Don't worry about the textures I mentioned earlier—they're actually quite good. It just turned out that adjusting the texture quality only works after a restart, and I didn't notice it when I first started playing. Now that I'm listening more closely, the textures are looking great!
