Occasionally yes, yet the display is sufficiently distant to obscure any distinction (768)
It depends on how your system uses the monitors. If you use one at a time or switch between them, it shouldn't affect performance. Running different games on them won't change the overall impact unless you're experiencing lag.
I test at 1680x1050 with 60Hz and plan to switch to 1080p at 144Hz using a GPU upgrade.
I just arrived to mention I'm testing at 4K on a 28-inch display... But I need to note that after selling my 1080p 144Hz screen and switching to 4K, things became quite challenging...
I was still in May of this year, using a 900p 2011 alienware gaming laptop. I upgraded to a 2015 1080p touchscreen, which helped me avoid the 4k screen laptop. Now it runs at 5760x1080 on my main desktop I constructed to replace my Duel 27" iMac (1080p).
I've been using this setup at 1366x768 for a while now. I tend to focus more on the details and frame rate rather than the screen size. Maybe I'll switch to a 1080p display next year.
