I completed every sidequest and point of interest in the initial zone. I also practiced my character and equipped the best armor. I spent around ten hours fine-tuning, testing, and adjusting the settings before getting my 980Ti. I’m hoping to accumulate over 200 hours once I finish the game.
Haha, that's what I experience with just one 980Ti and a 4-year-old 2500K CPU. Can you please disable Hairworks and try the game at 5K DSR? I'm curious about the frame rates people get—most folks prefer 5K over Geralt's pubes, mainly because the AA in the game is terrible! (FXAA)
I don't agree; my screen is 1080p and hair performs well at maximum brightness, which looks great compared to lower settings.
When you watch that video, it was using patch 1.04. After updating to 1.06, my frame rate hits a low of 62 FPS on average, with a high of 84 and a minimum of 62. If you manage to exceed these numbers, it’s likely due to special cards or settings other than Ultra mode, except for the Hairworks mod. Many people claim their GTX 970 runs at Ultra with over 60fps, but I prefer using Hairworks because it enhances the experience, particularly with animals and monsters. You might need some unusual mods if you notice Geralt’s pubic hair. Turning off Hairworks usually only reduces performance by about 15fps in most cases, so keeping it on is worthwhile for me. Regarding DSR, I don’t see a way to enable it in my NV Control Panel since I use G-Sync. However, someone I know with a Quad Titan X SLI and native 4K achieves at least 64 FPS in Witcher 3, suggesting 5K DSR could push both cards to their limits.
