I own an FX8320 and an R9 390x. (The core i5 and motherboard I previously had a BIOS issue with the GPU since I found it on a prebuilt system) I’m fairly certain my 390x is hitting its limits in games like GTA and Fallout 4. These titles rely heavily on low thread counts. I wouldn’t suggest pairing an FX8320 with that kind of GPU unless you have better alternatives.

I'm using an FX-3320 and XFX R9 390x, and it feels great—every game I play, from Black Ops 3 to Battlefield 4 and CS:GO, runs smoothly. The 390 is a solid choice for performance!

Additionally, the 390 will be delayed in several matches by the 8350. For more details, see this discussion: If you aim for 250fps+ in CSGO with a 390, it's best to choose an i5 instead.

FX 8320 paired with R9 295x2 (dual 290X) works well, the 295x2 offers better performance than a Titan X. But the GPU becomes a bottleneck.
