Do you really think it doesn’t influence a publisher’s goals when they can sell large numbers or even millions before launching? It’s clear that selling your product while maintaining full control over its presentation is smart business. It’s also accurate that prioritizing sales over evaluating the game’s quality makes merit secondary to marketing efforts. If you ignore this, you’re just sharing false information.

Yeah, there's very very few games I'll actually go out and pay full price for. Last year I preordered both No Man's Sky and The Division. The Division isn't toooo bad, but No Man's Sky wasn't quite what I expected. Pretty disappointing year. I'm hoping this year is better, with Andromeda and Crackdown 3.

I was surprised by how decent Andromeda seemed, but Mass Effect 3 stood out as one of the biggest letdowns in recent years. It came just behind Destiny and Fallout 4. I used to be excited about No Man's Sky, but I tend to be cautious of games relying heavily on procedural generation. So far, I haven't found a title that really shines and steers clear of the algorithm's shortcuts. As for The Division... LOL. I'm glad I didn't purchase it. A friend bought it thinking it would be fun to play together. I reached level 30 and wrapped up the story, but I haven't revisited it since.

Order ahead. In 2017. Individuals don't grasp things easily. What does madness truly mean?
