Have you checked if others have used a Ryzen 7 2700X with an X470 Taichi on the newest 5.10 BIOS from ASRock? I’m curious about how it went and whether any RAM speed problems have been resolved after support ended for older CPUs. I’ve experienced the 2700X failing to boot at speeds above 2133 and reverting after a couple starts. On my 5900X, turning off CSM for Resizable BAR Support also prevents the system from launching with that CPU, forcing me to stick with the 2700X if I want ReBAR. If this doesn’t solve your issues, should you consider downgrading to the 3.50 BIOS? That version was the last one with full support for Pinnacle, Raven and Summit Ridge CPUs. With it, your 3200X would run at full 2133 speed again. In the meantime, you’re looking at a used X570 Taichi, a 2TB WD Black SN850X, and you’re weighing RAM upgrades versus selling your current setup. Plus, with WiFi 6 improvements, faster RAM speeds, more ports, and the option to run multiple devices or a separate PC, it’s a complex decision.

The issue isn't the motherboard, it's the memory controller in the CPU. Zen+ has a rather poor memory controller.

I was certain I could handle 2666 and 3200 speeds before updating my BIOS for the Ryzen 5000 series. I experienced some instability at times, with crashes and erratic Windows behavior, so I often lowered the speed back to 2933 and 2666. Once I upgraded to the 5900X last year, things stabilized completely—no memory issues and smooth performance. Speeds above 2133 don’t work at all, and 2133 severely limits performance on Ryzen. It seems you’re not running Taichi with that BIOS, which is good. I wanted to check if a higher speed could be supported before making changes, just in case the upgrade process goes wrong and damages your motherboard.
