Have you seen anyone successfully using DP passthrough with Thunderbolt on an X670E Pro Art Wi-Fi card? You're struggling to get it working despite trying various cables and displays. Your setup includes a 3090 with one HDMI and one DP connection, plus a DP port on the 3090. The third DP port uses the display port cable from your motherboard, but no devices connect via Thunderbolt 1 or 2. Some monitors appear in Windows when connected this way, though nothing shows up in the NVidia control panel. Your Thunderbolt Control Center lists no devices, even though you have installed ASUS drivers and the latest BIOS. You've tested multiple USB-C monitors on USB-C and Thunderbolt laptops, plus several DP cables that work elsewhere—yet everything on your 3090 remains stuck in gray mode. Is there something missing or overlooked?

These devices function across various laptops using just one cable, supporting both Mac and older Windows systems. The lepow operates exclusively via USB, not Thunderbolt.

It's understandable you're not too surprised. The USB/TB setup on this AM5 board hasn't been very smooth, with limited comprehensive support. Your efforts were well done, though. Streamlining could help—using a DP to Type C cable might be simpler. It's frustrating spending money on features that don't function as intended, but it's a workaround at best. The Thunderbolt/USB4 ports on your X670E Taichi are functional for video output, though they're linked directly to the iGPU and don't support DP passthrough.

They aren't Thunderbolt, just USB-C DP Alt mode, which is why they don’t appear in the Thunderbolt control panel. Have you checked the supported configurations in the manual? Which processor are you running?

I've been adjusting the settings in the manual, mostly using ec1, and tested both ports.

I made sure all settings were activated in BIOS. I can capture a screenshot once I get home.

It seems there might be an issue with the passthrough setup after recent changes. I updated the Thunderbolt drivers and installed new ones for the IGPU on the 7950X. The monitor functions via USB-C when the IGPU is active, but it only works on the BIOS screen. Once Windows loads, the connection fails. It still connects directly through the IGPU HDMI, which works with my discrete 3090, though that defeats the main reason for getting this motherboard. Many similar questions exist, but it appears no one has successfully implemented passthrough for this board. =(

Hey, just received my Pro Art setup and honestly felt a bit overwhelmed when the BSOD popped up and Windows switched to repair mode. I tried overclocking the RAM to match its rated speeds (7200 MHz), similar to what worked on my ROG z690 Wi-Fi motherboard. After restarting several times, I finally booted back in at default settings. Still confused about the DP/TB setup—I connected a 3090 via DP and lost one of them. I’m not sure why I was sacrificing a DP or what the purpose was. If I have three monitors already working perfectly without an external adapter, why bother? Maybe I’ll revert to the original configuration. This is really frustrating.
