I’m not reaching over 100fps on a RTX 3090 for PUBG on ULTRA. Of course I understand it’s not the oldest title, but something feels different compared to what I’ve found and watched on YouTube. I’m playing on a 4K screen via DisplayPort on Windows 10 with the newest updates and drivers. Using a Z390 Gigabyte Designare MB and a 9900k at 5.0GHz with 64GB DDR4 Corsair Dominator RAM (3200MHz) resolved the issue! Edited November 27, 2022 by thedarkdad3

Reviewed a player using a 3090 at 4K on ultra settings, achieving roughly 100 FPS with some variability. Suggested running a custom stress test to measure average FPS. Aim for around 359. Also remind to monitor temperatures—throttling might be an issue.

Everything looks fine. I just purchased an RTX 4090 to fix the problems, as I'm now playing at 4K resolution. Appreciate your help!

RAM latency and bandwidth typically suffice for most games when the GPU is the bottleneck. Variations are minimal unless the game is heavily GPU-bound (though slight drops are still preferable). However, if the CPU is the limiting factor—such as with RTX4090 at 4K or lower at 3200C14 versus 4000C15—the impact becomes more significant. Slower RAM leads to higher latency and poorer performance during dips, especially noticeable in extreme frame rates. At 1080p with a CPU-bound workload, my 3200C14 4x8GB achieved around 165fps, while a 4200C16 reached 190-200fps under similar conditions. This highlights how CPU-bound scenarios demand more attention to RAM speed and stability.
