I’m aware of planetside being tailored for Intel, but I haven’t heard many positive reports about AMD versions. It seems some users have mixed experiences, so it might depend on the specific setup and configuration.
It seems the update was applied recently, similar to other recent patches. This announcement is likely to spread quickly, though it may still be considered poorly written.
On my FX 8320 with a 6950 GPU and high detail, it works well. But at 1680x1050 (16:10), I often run games in higher detail. Note the typo.
They perform exceptionally well. SOE introduced an update last year to utilize every available core, and it seems capable of handling up to 12 cores.
During PlanetSide 2's beta phase, using an AMD CPU was extremely problematic. It often struggled to maintain even 40 frames per second across any resolution on my 8350/7970 setup. They addressed the issue previously, but most solid AMD systems (6300 and higher) now run smoothly. Still, they don’t match Intel performance. I’m also concerned about the PS4 version.
