It's seemed to have a very secretive launch on PC, but it was probably (to me anyway) the most interesting Xbox One launch game. Just wondering if anyone can report on performance or the actual game? There really hasn't been much information on it.

You've understood the game well, though the combat isn't ideal. The campaign mission you're stuck on is really frustrating for me.

The "secretive debut" likely stemmed from the unfavorable feedback it received on XBONE. The title itself seemed more like a visual preview for the Xbox One launch. The narrative and battle elements were weak. IGN rated the PC edition a 5 out of 10, while the XBONE release earned a 4. The performance benchmarks I've seen indicate the game demands strong hardware, often capping at around 45-50 frames per second on high settings.

No, I didn't compare Assassin's Creed to Rise.

I reviewed it recently and noticed some impressive visuals, though the gameplay feels quite monotonous and the narrative lacks depth.

Performance is terrible and the content is dull. I’m hoping it ends up on a Steam sale, but that feels let down since it’s a Crytek title.

You can contrast it with Crysis 3. It functions more like a tech showcase.

The game looks nice but has some major problems, particularly with the sli issue right now.
