My case is, Corsair 4000D (not airflow version but I will replace the front panel with mesh ones asap) For motherboard, I actually seen that all B650Ms have overall good VRMS and also new ryzens doesn't push mobos as intel 13th gen. And saw this board was enough for AM5 platform overall. I can surely spend some more on it and get TUF or MSI boards It is like 150$ extra spending for me if its really matters. For intel part, I can look for cheaper Z690s or maybe B660s if its works well as well. There is an offer for MSI PRO Z690 285$ RN or 225-250$ for cheaper boards
Old leftover? Absolutely, the mesh front is essential since that’s essentially the worst in the 4000 lineup. If airflow isn’t a concern initially, you can just take it off and run for a while. It doesn’t seem like enough airflow is needed because it’s a less widely built VRM. There are only three bad B650 models and two of them are regional locked ASUS boards. The DS3H has really improved from being the worst to becoming a decent board rather than just junk.
The b760 or z790 600 series isn't included by default. Be aware that Intel's BIOS updates are uncommon. Prior to AMD, these chips were mainly found on boards priced above $500.
7800X3D is pretty awesome.......made the 7900x look like an oopsie as it is merely a whisker away from the same performance. Another upside to the AMD is efficiency. they can run high loads at much load power needs so it is worth considering if you do start using the PC for extended periods as it does add up. Whilst there is a lot of talk around whats best etc the 7800X3D is a very well rounded option. No trickery required with tuning and software or messing in windows for the extra cache when running a game as it is a single CCD. it is also early days and AMD tend to mature well. My 5900x is faster today than it was when new out the box. Simply well implemented updates to the AGESA over time etc. Anyways........intel are also fine I just feel i paid them enough hard earned cash over all the years with their new this new that new motherboards almost every cycle etc.
If you choose Intel, consider this board: MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard (PRO Z790-A WIFI DDR4) from PCPartPicker. For DDR5 it's a slightly better option at a lower cost. This board isn't too expensive, lasts a long time, and supports mild overclocking if needed. The cooler also enhances performance.
If you can afford it, choose DDR5 with a minimum of 5600Mhz, but aim for 6000Mhz or higher. It offers better long-term support. DDR4 could limit performance if you stick with it, though it's more affordable. A solid choice is at least 3200Mhz, preferably 3600Mhz or above. I’d recommend DDR5, and make sure to activate XMP in your BIOS regardless.
There’s a lot of debate between the two. For gaming, the clear advantage is 7800x3d and its cache. I own a 3600mhz Cl36 Corsair kit; using DDR4 would likely work well, and there are benefits to using DDR4 or even DDR5 in FPS scenarios.
