Any suitable brand thermal goo can be mixed with various combinations, except liquid metal should never pair with aluminium components. EDIT: It seems cheap eBay listings might not be safe for CPUs or similar parts.

Swapping the thermal paste on another machine is quite basic, but it tends to be quite outdated and straightforward.

It's fine, as said before - only liquid metal is "incompatible" with aluminium.
