Hi, I'm using a 240Hz monitor with a 1920x1080 resolution and want to test 1720x1080 via the NVIDIA control panel. I think it's safe to lower the resolution, but I'm still double-checking. I won't be increasing the refresh rate or skipping any settings—just sticking to popular custom resolutions that fit my screen size, mostly stretched. Thanks ahead!

It's completely safe, though it could appear poorly. If your display can't reach the desired resolution, it may freeze or display an error. In that case, you won't be able to confirm acceptance, and the system will revert to the most recent stable setting.

I'm used to seeing a "terrible look." I enjoy competitive games and appreciate the lower quality display, though I haven't explored a fully custom setup. I was hesitant since I thought my chances were slim—if I clicked apply, my monitor might fail.
