At that resolution, 2x MSAA performs quite effectively. Going beyond it doesn’t make a noticeable difference, but I’m not sure. At 1440p, it starts to become noticeable.
In games with delayed rendering, you can't enable MSAA, as most modern AAA games do.
They confirmed it in their performance and settings manual. Shimmering remains unaffected by MSAA. I believe TW3 offers excellent anti-aliasing, possibly among the top options.
It varies by game and AA method. Usually two times is sufficient in most situations.
