I restored my PS2 and discovered a map filled with cheat codes for many of the games I own. I wondered why such tools aren't available now. I believe GTA V changed things, making cheats less appealing compared to the past when San Andreas was a standout. Previously, cheat codes brought enjoyment and kept games engaging. Now, with GTA V, the focus shifted to microtransactions, where players must purchase content. In today's games, if you want something, you have to pay. Back then, cheats were the main draw; they weren't just about novelty anymore. What are your thoughts? Did microtransactions contribute to the decline of cheats?

Back when gaming was on consoles, online multiplayer was almost nonexistent.

I believe it's due to the fact that games have become more sophisticated and aim for a more serious tone.

Winning milestones also affected the outcome, since cheating in GTA V turns off achievements during the ongoing session.

Prefer games where cheating removes certain achievements permanently from that specific save file.

In GTA V, mods are available to enhance the experience, often offering improvements that Rockstar might avoid due to concerns about altering their original vision.

Back in the early days, GTA SA was considered really advanced and taken seriously. Things have changed, but it’s the same trend we’ll see in games over the next 5 to 10 years.

Absolutely, PC modding is definitely an alternative, but console gaming offers a completely different experience. Cheating on PC isn't something I've seen much, except among trainers.
