It was a major mistake. The CPU cooler in my 17R4 began to fail. It sounded like a bearing was failing and was much louder than usual. I purchased the proper replacement and installed it myself. I followed the instructions exactly as they came with. Once everything was reassembled correctly, I powered it on. My success faded quickly when the screen remained inactive and the power button started flashing—red three times blue—the machine would shut down repeatedly until it restarted. After checking the code, it reported no RAM detected. That surprised me since I hadn’t touched the RAM modules. I inspected the whole motherboard and all connections, cables, wires, and ribbon cables, confirming they were secure. I attempted to swap the RAM sticks as suggested in a troubleshooting guide, but it didn’t help. I worry I might have broken a connection to the board, and now fixing it myself has cost more than hiring a technician. Anyone know how to resolve this? Just to note, everything worked perfectly before I started disassembling it.
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling. Resetting the CPU depends on your device type—check your manual or manufacturer's website for specific instructions.
