No matching power supply found for Gigabyte Z490
I observed the Gigabyte Z490 board includes an additional 4-pin power connector. It seems there aren’t many PSUs available with that specific connector. The suggestion mentioned it’s mainly needed for the i9-10900K, which is the CPU you’re considering. Is this extra power necessary beyond overclocking, or is it just for that particular model? I’m not sure if I should keep searching or if I can manage without it. Thanks.
You've spotted the higher-power Seasonic Focus Plus models, such as the 750W and 850W 80+ Gold versions.
I checked the PC part picker and realized I’d need more voltage for the extra 4-pin connector. It seems they’re compatible with a 700W PSU.
Hey there! These motherboards with dual EPS CPU power connectors are mostly used for serious overclocking. Premium power supplies usually come with two connectors for this purpose. The one I’m using (EVGA P2 850W) has them, and I’ve added an extra plug in for extra safety, though it might not be essential. Since I’m a bit meticulous, I want that extra slot filled.
Only during maximum overclocking. As you'll be using the default settings, you won't need them.
