I purchased No Man's Sky on Steam after seeing some streams on PS4. I expected a smooth port, but the game has noticeable frame rate drops and occasional bugs. I'm running it on an MSI GE62 Apache Pro-239 with a 970m GPU, 16GB RAM (upgraded from 12GB). In the video I shared my current settings; I lowered them after feeling sick initially. Performance is mostly low—averaging 50-60 FPS with dips as low as 9 FPS. The game works but the stutters can be bothersome. I’ve played about an hour so far. My takeaway: it’s fun, though the performance issues are frustrating. I’ll upload more videos with updates and hope they fix the stability soon. That’s all for now—feel free to let me know if you want more details about my setup or the game!

I'm experiencing extremely low frames and frequent frame drops; please work on resolving this.

Based on your setup, a GT 740 seems limited for high frame rates even with a good port. You might want to consider an upgrade if you plan to play No Man's Sky. The AMD Rx460 is available for about $100 and has been benchmarked at around 30-40 FPS in that game.

I launched the game smoothly at over 30 frames per second on my 740. Made a few tweaks to resolution settings and turned off G-Sync.
