The keyboard error appears, then it restarts normally with a background screen, and the time and month are not recognized. The mouse or keyboard does not communicate with the computer.

I don't have the current age of the PC. Have you experienced any other problems with it recently?

Is there anything I can do?
The PC was purchased five years ago and hasn't been used for gaming. It's mainly been used to handle spreadsheets, write memos, and send emails.

If no USB ports function, I would suspect an issue with the motherboard (possibly damaged from a static shock).
You could try connecting a card like this to the motherboard, which might restore some functionality.
Alternative options include:
https://www.microcenter.com/product...B_...toreID=095
Or this:
https://www.amazon.com/FebSmart-Self-Pow...B071P5C6CS

It might be that my memory is sending power to all the ports since I connected an external drive to each one, and the power indicator lit up.

You can actually overload your USB ports. Disconnect all connected devices except the keyboard and mouse, then attempt again.

The component is firmly connected to the motherboard inside the case. This appears to be a desktop PC, doesn't it?

The question about whether the splitter has its own external power supply or only connects to a USB port remains unanswered based on the provided context.

The checksum error caused the CMOS battery to fail. There is still no keyboard or mouse detected. I attempted a powered USB connection, but it did not resolve the issue.
