I was thinking about swapping out my old laptop's HDD for an ADATA SP550. I wondered if I needed the installation key for the new drive. The OS is Windows 10, upgraded from 8.1.

Obtain the identical OS version in OEM format (or utilize the media creation tool), allowing a fresh installation without a key. That’s for a clean setup. If you prefer, simply end with Macirum Reflect.
