For Prime95 standard use, execute Cinebench R23 with a 30-minute stress test. Report peak temperatures; expect values near 5–10°C higher than Prime95 results. A smaller cooler isn't suitable for the 9700K environment.

Do you have any speed boost settings on your processor? Is it possible to track your processor's voltage during testing? Automatic voltage control often provides more power than necessary.

It seems NH-U12S should handle cooling a 9700K temperature without issues at standard speeds, with minimal difference compared to NH-U12A. For larger coolers, consider NH-U14S. When testing, verify your Vcore settings. VID is the voltage your CPU needs, while Vcore is the actual voltage it receives. My 9900K reaches 83°C during p95 at 5.0GHz with AVX 1.

What a cooler you're going for! I'm feeling the same way about your 9700k—maybe it's time to upgrade to something like an i5 9600k.

Yes, I located the vcore. In the initial 95 test without AVX at stock, the minimum vcore was 1.176 and the maximum reached 1.224.
