Checking TDP requirements for Intel 10th gen locked CPUs with Z490 boards. Can unlock models like 10400/10700/10900 at 65W to keep all cores running at turbo indefinitely? Also, can you lower the CPU voltage via BIOS to reduce heat when using an SFF case? Does this apply to all Z490 motherboards or only certain ones? The tdp has no impact, you should adjust the turbo settings instead. Many boards allow this change. Usually it doesn’t create a significant effect since limits aren’t tight. GN made a video on the topic and noticed almost no performance changes. You can usually lower the voltage, but it rarely matters much.

I believe it's possible, though we need to verify the main turbo restrictions. The numbers seem similar after unlocking, but a closer look is necessary.

The turbo power settings could be fixed on certain Dell, HP or other OEM boards but are usually open on most reputable boards from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc. CPUs without K restrictions don’t cover all core turbo options. The 10-core 10900 model is very power-intensive. Raising the turbo limits past 65W can greatly improve performance under heavy load.
