Hey, just got 3 units of 5950X recently. They all seem almost identical. Each runs at 4.75GHz, but nothing more. I’m desperate for a stable 4.8GHz or 4.9GHz unit—no luck finding anything that meets that spec. Do you think it’s really a coincidence? Usually I get a decent sample in three tries, but this one feels different.

Are you referring to all the main time sources? That's interesting—I expected they'd be even better. My 5900x runs at 4750, sometimes hitting 4800 for certain tasks.

Yeah, even putting in a lot of voltage doesn't help much. My top run hit 4.8Ghz across the whole core but it wasn't very stable. If I'm aiming to beat TimeSpy, 5950X won't stand a chance. 10980XE crushed 5950X there.

It didn't work well for me either, but it completed the run so... you need to find a way to get that single core up. You should be able to hit 5300, right? My unit can do 5150, but I have to use the curve optimizer to test it like that.

I'm not sure what you're referring to—could you clarify?

Optimal choice is joining an overclocker forum to obtain a verified gold piece or browsing eBay. Generally, people will simply mimic others since they’re only asked to meet basic requirements and then run minimal extra tasks, making any gold samples rare gems.

It's quite challenging to find a good one.

It's built for performance from the start. This explains why their results stay strong and reliable. It reduces unusual data points, which means lower risk of extreme outcomes. Usually I wouldn't suggest it, but you're one of the few here with a solid 5k setup and funds to spare :p. I appreciate you taking your approach seriously. Remember to use PayPal for purchases and avoid the family/friends option to stay safe from scams, which are becoming more common these days.

I've grown accustomed to the changes. I might just stick with my laptop until the next update arrives.

It makes sense to keep it as it is. New Zen isn't available on this platform, so you'll need to change your device.
