I have two GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H (AMD) boards, but one appears to lack components in the middle of the CPU socket. The images attached illustrate these spots. Does the missing piece indicate a faulty board? When attempting to boot the possibly damaged unit, the system powers on normally—case fans spin, CPU fan operates, and RAM lights work—yet no display appears. It seems the monitor detects power-up because it shows "NO SIGNAL" while the PC is active, but the screen remains blank. Could these problems be linked (the missing part in the socket affecting the monitor) or are they separate issues?
System Details: CPU – AMD Athlon X4 950
Board – GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H
GPU – AMD Radeon HD 7470
The screen might have chosen the IGP setting. Use the board's video instead of the card. HDMI is the standard.
There are two different motherboard models available, each with unique capacitor arrangements. Be aware that version 3.x (possibly the problematic one) stops supporting Bristol Ridge for Athlon X4 950 if the BIOS is updated beyond F2. Both 3.x and 2.0 versions also support Bristol Ridge until FA. The 1.x model covers F1 through F53, excluding F40 and F41. For accurate testing, consider using a budget Summit Ridge (Ryzen 1000) or Raven Ridge (Athlon 2xxGE or Ryzen 2000G) CPU.
I installed a Ryzen 1400 and the screen is now functioning properly. I need to determine the correct BIOS version for the Athlon X4 950. According to CPU-Z, the motherboard model is A320M-S2H-CF, but I don’t have the original box. The revision number isn’t visible either. How can I locate this information so I can select the right BIOS?
