I possess two 4+4 CPU power ports from the new PSU that’s still pending delivery, plus twelve connectors on my motherboard. Once the PSU arrives, will it provide the CPU with more available wattage by fully utilizing all twelve pins? I’ve seen mixed advice about this situation, but no clear guidance on whether it’s safe or advantageous to connect everything. I’m using a Z490-H Strix board with a Corsair 750 modular PSU (80+ bronze), paired with a 10700k CPU and a 3060ti GPU. This is my latest setup.

Technically it's true, though the 384 watts the 8-pin can handle will exceed your requirements.

It's probably a lot more than I'm expecting, even with my OC setup (5.2 cores, 48x cache at 1.28V).

The 10700k won’t draw more current than the 8 can supply. I own a 10700k too, and all 12 pins are connected since my PSU has them ready. If your PC is already assembled with wires in place, there’s no need to add extra cables for this setup—it really isn’t necessary.

It's mainly about extreme character creation—only when you really need it, such as with cryogenic elements.

Technically, yes. Connecting all EPS power cables can increase the available power for the processor. But the 10700k unit isn’t powerful enough to fully utilize a single 8-pin EPS cable. Leaving the other 4-pin cable unconnected wouldn’t change that outcome.

I’m curious about the reason for including that part on this board. The biggest CPU it supports is an i9 10900k, isn’t it? It seems like a way to appear “up-to-date” and stylish, right? Even without a 4+4 eps connection, you can still fit half of the 8-pin connector on the MB, which makes the separate 4-pin next to it unnecessary since the CPU would hit its limits. I’ve already ordered a new PSU with two 4+4 ports; I think it’ll offer additional benefits as well, so I’m not too disappointed. Most of my components are overclocked, and I’ve compared them to some, which is definitely stretching my 650W rating to about 80% efficiency—even though my parts aren’t extreme or enthusiast-level.
