I've faced ongoing problems with my i9 13900kf. After the upgrade, I switched to an h150i pro (cooler), but it didn't fit correctly on my motherboard—so I purchased a different cooler that matched the new board. Still, it keeps reaching around 95 degrees, and I experience stuttering in games, along with slow performance overall. My system specs are: Windows 11 64bit, Z790 PG Lightning/D4 i9-13900KF, 2x16 at 3200 MHz, RAM RTX 3080ti, Samsung 970 EVO plus a 500GB Toshiba HDD, and a 4TB WD HDD. I also have an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 as my new cooler.

Verify your CPU's contact pressure. It runs quite hot, yet stays under 95°C. What are your temperatures in BIOS? Do you have a contact frame for the CPU?

Did you check any reviews before purchasing that CPU? It seems like you missed the thermal details. 13900k CPUs tend to get extremely hot and perform quickly. Usually, you need to adjust voltages for optimal performance. If you’re not doing this tuning on this chipset, you might face thermal problems and throttling. Interestingly, it consistently reaches 95°C, which should only happen under a strong load—not just while browsing or playing games. Most games shouldn’t push the temperature past 95°C, so it’s possible you aren’t using all its capacity. What type of power supply did you install? Ensure it’s correctly fitted and verify everything is secure. If it were fully seated, it should exceed 95°C, but issues like mounting pressure or bracket misalignment could be the cause. For such high-end chips, a contact frame would be advisable.

The chip bending problem differs depending on the motherboard. The socket design is poor, and the ILM bends the CPU unevenly. There are contact frames available; the thermalright model is recommended as it replaces the ILM and eliminates the bent CPU issue.

Here’s a rephrased version of your message:

An example is that I’m currently at 60 degrees with only 1% CPU usage. That seems unusual. My BIOS reports match the temperatures I used in the program I’m running. (ICUE) I realized it must be a very hot processor. I’ve noticed several people on forums sharing different opinions, so I wanted to check if I was making a mistake or if this is normal. They mentioned that the chip maxes out at 95 degrees regardless of how high I increase the clock speed. I’m unsure what the typical range is. I attempted to adjust things, but it didn’t help. I plan to watch this video to see if my setup was off and make corrections. All games run at 95 degrees. When idle, it stays around 60 degrees (1% utilization). What do you mean about the plugs I used? This was a while ago; I only had one USB header on my motherboard, so I could only connect one sensor. I think I’ve seen these mentioned before, possibly related to seating or contact issues. I’ll check it out. I’ve removed and reinserted the cooler several times in the past, but it hasn’t improved much. I just want to confirm if the performance cores have enough thermal headroom to push clock speeds higher as much as possible. Thank you.

The reading of 60C at idle indicates the cooler isn't installed properly. Verify you selected the right mounting hardware for the aio.
