I've tried several source titles besides CS:GO on my 7970, but sometimes the frames drop to about 300fps. It feels too choppy for a smooth experience.

I'm using an i3 and a GTX 750 with just 4GB RAM. I haven't noticed my frame rate dropping below 60 FPS even when the game is at its highest settings, though the screen is limited to 720p due to monitor restrictions. Neither the i3 nor the 750 seems to be struggling much.
