I just swapped out my motherboard since the old one failed. I noticed there aren’t enough 5V RGB headers for my accessories. My board is an Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus (WI-FI). Right now I have two Phanteks Halos and a 25cm LED strip plugged into the 5V RGB header, plus a T-Force Delta Max RGB SSD which isn’t connected yet.

Do connecting all of them risk overloading the 5V header? I checked a RGB hub on Shopee and it seems safe to use that setup. If you buy one there, you’re good. Alternatively, Amazon US has a similar product with a different design.

If the hub you find doesn’t work, what other RGB hubs should I consider? Since my board’s 12V header is bad, adding a 5V to 12V adapter—like the one you mentioned—might be necessary. If I skip the board and use an adapter, would that overload the 5V header? [I might try returning the board if it gets rejected]

You'd need to review the motherboard documentation for its peak current capacity, likely around 2A for the RGB lights. Look up the specifications for each connected component, sum their requirements, and ensure the combined total stays within the motherboard's limits.

Confirm if you can overload the motherboard. Verify the maximum current allowed for one header—typically 1-2A or about 10W total. Consider using an RGB hub that pulls power from Molex rather than the motherboard itself (opt for a MBO- RGB for color control only).

The RGB LEDs listed lack the ampere or wattage details on the seller's page. I also reviewed the websites of SSD and Phanteks Halos, but those numbers weren't available. Since the LED strip and the two Phanteks Halos are connected and functioning, I assume the overall power draw stays within the header's specifications. Does this RGB hub operate? It seems to use a SATA connector for power.

I found another option on Amazon that appears similar to the first one, just with a different design or logos.
