I stick to the usual 1-3 and 2-4 suggestions. My friend’s rig is set to 2-3, with channels A on 2 and B on 3. Even though it’s dual-channel, swapping the RAM to 1(A1)–3(B1) versus 2(A2)–3(B1) might affect performance slightly because of channel usage differences.

It's unlikely to work in Dual Channel with those settings.

I can't capture the image since it isn't mine. I couldn't check the bios directly, though the app mentioned it was dual-booted. I stopped arguing and just started wondering more.

There isn't a significant performance gap, yet some instability could cause problems with running at rated speeds or timing adjustments. If the system started up and XMP was applied, it should work, but pushing RAM further might still lead to issues.
