In many places, hardware shops don’t sell CPUs alone—they usually require a GPU or a motherboard with RAM. Is this allowed? You’re trying to get a CPU but getting turned away. If you reach out to AMD and explain the issue, could that help resolve the problem?

Initially, what makes it unlawful is unclear. Determining this requires understanding regional regulations. I’m familiar with local rules, but I can’t verify them without knowing your area’s laws. Since a CPU isn’t considered essential, you wouldn’t have grounds to argue otherwise. It seems the market operates freely—reach out to AMD for information on approved suppliers in your region.

Seems like a store's rule... consider another place.

I don't know of any country where this would be against the law. It's probably only possible with an official AMD partner, but even then it seems unlikely.

It's not simple here; among 30 shops, I might discover just one that offers a CPU separately

What if the item was their own and it broke? It was returned via RMA, and you received a refund. Now you're considering purchasing a replacement, but the seller is denying your request.
