The upgrade from a GTX 1060 to a GTX 1660 doesn't seem worth the cost. Still, any PCI-e card should work as long as your power supply is solid.

Well what would justify it?

The performance gap isn't substantial enough to justify upgrading to a brand new 1660. For instance, I typically purchase the best card every 4-5 years, and my most recent buy was the R9 380 with 4GB RAM. My overclocked 1660 offers more than double the power of my old R9 380, making the investment in a new 1660 worthwhile.

Your existing card has limited space, so you'd probably notice a big boost. However, I’d pick the 1660 Super over the 1669.

Is this a fresh release? (With Nvidia introducing a new card each month, anyone?) The GTX 1669—just a joke, hehehe.

I made a few mistakes with my phone typing! The 1660 is about the same price as the 1660, but it uses GDDR6 memory instead of GGR5.

Consider saving your funds and opt for an RTX 2060 instead of upgrading to a GTX 1660. The performance gap is quite noticeable. Edit: after realizing this, I thought a B360M might not be suitable for a high-end RTX card.

You might pick the 1660 and dive into an overclocking challenge to exceed it, similar to what I did (I actually got the 1660 before the Super era took off). I managed to push my overclocking success so far in Far Cry 5 that I nearly matched the 2060 (a pretty unusual outcome for my OC version of 1660). In other titles, my card just edges slightly above the 1660 Ti.

It seems like you're feeling fortunate, but focusing on the 1660 isn't worth it since the price gap to a super is minimal and you could easily overlook it.
