DX12 varies by game; for example, DankField1 (BF1) can utilize up to 16 threads, but after 6-8 threads the FPS change becomes negligible.

In short, it's not a good use of time or money to put in on a HEDT with 10 cores for gaming. Thanks!

i7 models see a minor increase in frames per second thanks to hyperthreading, though only about half of players notice. With 10 threads it’s unclear what the impact would be.

HEDT is quite busy across all 12 of my threads, but one thread keeps getting in the way on a random core. CIG knows about this issue, though there’s no update on a solution just yet. Still, Intel’s 10-core setup isn’t looking great right now—maybe wait to see how the new Ryzen chips perform in terms of price and speed.

It seems you're questioning whether X-Plane could effectively use something, though you weren't entirely sure.

They mentioned aiming for 'maximum use' of up to six cores. If you have more than that, it should distribute the load evenly among them.

Typically, anything beyond an i5 is too much for gaming at 1080p. I’m not sure how much difference an i7 would bring personally.
