Hello! I’m trying to figure out if the MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI requires both 8-pin EPS connectors or if one is enough. The PSU only has a single 8-pin, so I’m checking whether it still works with just one cable. I remember the B450 and B550 used one cable with the other optional, but I want to confirm this for the B650. Thanks!

It functions though it’s not recommended for very strong processors. It should work with a 7600x or 7700x, but a 7950x may struggle.

The motherboard will use a specific CPU, which depends on your requirements and the system configuration.

7600x speed isn't the problem; the main question is whether the motherboard supports booting with only one EPS loaded.

It should work with a single 8-pin connector. I’m not sure from memory, but an 8-pin can handle around 230 watts or more. My 12700k overclocked model can manage over 300 watts. It really depends on how much power you plan to use later if you decide to add extra cables.

No, it won't work with only one 8-pin connector.

It could be a tight call. I wouldn't take that chance. However, you might lower the voltage slightly or try another method to cut power use.
