No internet connection featuring the latest x570 model
Hello, it's been over ten years since I last used a desktop PC, so I'm upgrading to a new NVIDIA Super GPU and Ryzen CPU. I have a Ryzen 3700X with an Intel X570 AORUS Elite processor and Windows 10. My internet connection uses Intel I211 Gigabit, but it doesn't work. My laptop on the Inspiron still has a working connection. I've tried updating drivers, BIOS, chipset, setting a manual IP, and running various commands. I also restarted the DHCP client, but that didn't help either. It seems the issue might be related to DHCP settings. I'm worried about losing my internet access and think this might be my network problem. I've invested a lot in Brazil and don't want to waste it. Please advise—anyone have ideas? Thanks!
I don't have that information. Could you provide more details or check your system settings?
Please share your current driver setup and operating system details so I can assist you further.
Hi Liam, I tested two versions of Windows 10 Pro. One made with an MS tool and another using an older version I had on hand. I used both AORUS drivers (from CD and site) and Intel’s site. Win 10 Pro works fine. Thanks.
Either way. It could be an issue with the version your on. You can check that out in the settings. I cant be more specific because I no longer use Windows 10 and forgot what part of settings its in. Most likely its 1903 if this is a relatively new install. Not sure if you can get an old installer to try one of the older versions. When I went from 1803 to 1903 via a clean install, my network card drivers barely worked. So some times thats the issue.
Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions. The issue isn’t with my computer; I checked my PC on a friend’s place and it functioned perfectly. After returning home, I tested each port on my router in the living room, and everything was working fine. The problem lies with the cable. It runs alongside the electrical wires from the living room to my bedroom. On my laptop, it didn’t reach full speed (80mb out of 120mb) and the connection was sometimes unstable, though it did work. I’ll need a different cable that doesn’t share the same path with other cables. For now, I’m using tethering from my Android phone. Cheers!
