I recently installed a brand new computer but ran into an issue during setup. While installing Windows 11 Pro, the system froze and refused to connect to the internet. The internal 2.5G LAN is functioning properly, with lights working correctly. Could you help me figure out what’s going on?

No built-in software is available for Wi-Fi, so you must either install the driver on another device and transfer it via USB or connect using a wired method. Apologies.

Press Shift+F10 to launch the Command Prompt, then enter devmgmt to access Device Manager. Verify whether your LAN/WiFi driver is present; if missing, you may attempt installation from there.

Ethernet should function properly, but issues might arise due to interference, cabling problems, or outdated hardware.

If the driver isn't installed, there should be a USB port for the driver in the motherboard case. Otherwise, you might need a different computer.

You just assembled a PC with an MSI Z790 Gaming Plus Wi-Fi MOBO and faced this same problem. It started up normally but couldn’t connect to the internet using either an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. All the necessary drivers were on a CD, but now your PC lacks an optical drive. Luckily, you installed a PCIe Wi-Fi card, which resolved the issue. After that, you downloaded the MOBO drivers from the website and still didn’t understand why MSI didn’t include LAN drivers pre-installed or offer them on a USB drive.
