Hello everyone, I'm dealing with an unusual issue on my PC. After upgrading from my previous machine, which failed, I bought a new one. When I launch MS Edge, it works fine, but other browsers like Chrome, Opera, and even Discord voice chats show errors. It also affects apps needing internet, such as games and OBS. These problems started after a Windows update. All drivers are installed, and everything seems connected properly. Windows is up to date and legal. Please let me know if I provided enough details—I'm open to more questions. Things I tried: Windows recovery, manual driver installation, resetting the modem, changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 (1.0.0.1).
Specs: ASUS Prime X470 PRO, AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 8 cores, 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Corsair RGB, 3000 series, Samsung 500 GB SSD, M.2 1 TB, WD Blue Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti, Intel i9 11th Gen, black Corsair CX750M, running Windows 10 Pro.
It seems Edge was configured using a proxy server while other browsers and apps weren't. In Edge navigate to Settings > View Advanced Settings > Open Proxy Settings and check the manual proxy section. If it's missing, return to basics—try pinging 8.8.8.8. Success indicates proper internet access. A working ping to google.com confirms correct DNS setup. If both succeed, the problem likely lies with the application itself.
