The game caps at 6700K and doesn’t allow full multi-threaded usage across all cores. It behaves similarly to the 3900X, where single-core performance remains the main constraint.

It seems your friend's setup isn't fully optimized for every thread. Each core might be under more pressure than others, especially with the game loading heavily on the first thread of each core. On an i5 6600 with GTX970, running at lower graphics settings could keep it around 50 FPS while reducing stutters during intense moments like many critical hits.

Running Windows 11 Pro smoothly on my Intel Core i7 6850k / ASUS x99 Deluxe II with TPM 2.0 is perfect. I did a clean install and everything functions well under load. Besides gaming, I mainly use it for photo editing and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro / Corel Draw with my Huion Pen Display. Graphics Suite 2020 works great. BlackDragon

Numerous titles suffer from extremely low frame rates and poor performance on older quad processors. Even the quicker 6c6t CPU struggles, and these issues haven't been worsened by recent Spectre updates. Running a 3600 at 1080p with a 4-year-old GPU will cause major problems at 1440p when using a 3070Ti or similar card.

It varies based on the particular chip and how you define something as outdated.
