I recently enhanced my PC with three 4GB DDR4 Kingston modules (identical specifications). They functioned well with my previous CPU, displaying 12GB in Windows. After installing the new CPU, it won’t boot without any of the three sticks, leaving only 8GB available—only two sticks work. I’ve tried various combinations, different slots, and re-seating them, but no success. Any suggestions?

I don't have information about your previous CPU, current CPU, or motherboard. Could you clarify which system you're referring to?

It's usually not advisable to use three sticks at once.

All units are from Kingston, differing mainly in model names. It has two KVR24N17S6/4 and one KVR24N17S8/4. Previously it functioned on the same motherboard I’m using now with a less powerful CPU. I upgraded from an i3 8100 to an i9 9900. On the ASUS B360F STRIX, the 12GB worked fine with the i3, but not with the i9. Now only eight are working with the new CPU.

I understand why 3 isn't ideal, but it performed well with your i3 while the newer i9 didn't.

Ensure BIOS is set to version 1703. Place both S6/4 modules in DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 slots. The S8/4 module may go into either A1 or B1 slot.

Team, everyone checked every option, but it seems the motherboard could have been damaged while I was saving the CPU, so we’ll need to repair that.
