Hello everyone. I haven’t assembled a PC yet but am considering it soon. I’ve been researching what to include and aim for a powerful gaming or workstation setup. My plan is an Asus ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO ATX board with an Intel Core i9-10900K at 3.7 GHz and a 10-core chipset. I intend to install three m.2 NVMe SSDs, specifically Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB. I’ve heard on some forums that NVMe drives might impact GPU performance since they use the PCIe lanes your chipset provides. I believe the Z490 chipset supports up to 16 lanes, which should be enough for directing traffic to a GPU like the 3090 or 3080. I’ll also add a PCIe X1 sound card from Creative Labs, the Sound Blaster AE-9. Will that affect GPU performance? I’m new to this, so please keep it simple. Thanks for your help!
