Hey there, just finished setting up my PC. The motherboard and CPU are listed below: Asrock B650E PG Riptide Wifi Ryzen 7800X3D. I know the CPU needed BIOS updates to work properly, but it’s not showing up in the system. I have a USB drive formatted as fat32 with the ROM file inside, and everything looks correct on the board page. What might I be missing? I’ve swapped out the slot where the flash drive is plugged in too. Thanks!
no need man, this is a forum, we help for free format the usb to NTFS, that should work did you unzip it? i normaly put the bios image file and the rest on a usb stick without folders, if you dont have an empty usb stick i suggest placing them in a folder for safe keeping and load the files back on after bios flashing. what file extention is the file exactly? (file extenstion is like .exe, .txt)
You're unsure about converting the USB to UEFI, but it's just an empty drive with no folders or files except the .ROM.
Consider using the Flackback port or the one right above it instead of the other USB 3.0 ports. BIOS updates can be strict about port selection. If that fails, test another USB drive. I usually carry a compact USB 2.0 card since many boards struggle with 3.0+ drives or big ones. No need to change formats—ASRock recommends FAT32, which most brands follow. EDIT: For the flashback feature, rename your file to CREATIVE.ROM.
You can identify the flashback port by looking for specific labels or markings near each USB port, often indicated with symbols like a lightning bolt or a forward slash. If you still can't find it, try using a known reference port or consult your device's manual.
You're experiencing the same problem on the same board and CPU. Upgrading from v1.18 to v1.21beta seems straightforward, but not to 1.24.AS02. No image file was found, and you've tried renaming files, using different cables, and testing with another USB port. It looks like the USB stick works fine, so it's likely the update process itself is causing the issue. You might want to check if other users with an Asrock B650E PG Riptide Wifi and a 7800X3D have successfully applied the update.
