I continue using XP at work, and many organizations still rely on Windows XP. It functions well for everyday tasks as long as you don’t make major changes like adding new hardware or doing unusual activities. Just because Microsoft no longer supports it doesn’t mean the system is faulty.

I believe the laptop in the basement is still using XP, because everything has been Windows 7 since about last year.

I haven't encountered a machine running XP for years. In class we utilize iMacs with Windows 7 installation. W7 represents the updated version of XP.

I own a machine with XP/Vista, another with 7, one with 8, and I have the CDs for 95/98 ready to use. I want to schedule them on a PC later. Note: @ tmcclelland455, consider adding an option for users running older OSes so it better reflects those who haven't upgraded.

I own the larger, a bit more powerful brother (OptiPlex 170L, bigger than the SFF but not a tower). 98SE on HELIOS and my old Compaq laptop. DOS version around 3 on my very old machine. It has a grudge against Linux for some reason, and I need the ease of MS Office. None of the alternatives (LibreOffice/OpenOffice) quite fit what I'm after. Don't forget, if you're careful with what you do, you'll be safe. Since it's connected to my netbook—which kind of serves as a bridge from wireless to Ethernet—I've configured it to prevent strange connections and heavy data bursts. NEVAH!!!!

This computer has limited memory. It seems like it's struggling to function properly.

We’re dealing with an older system using Windows Vista. The rest of our setup consists mainly of up-to-date laptops and mobile devices.
